Medium crabs need a minimum of 6 inches of moist sand in their tank. You can keep several in a 10 gallon tank as long as you are prepared to upgrade as they grow. The general rule of thumb is to allow 3 gallons of space for each medium crab. A tank 16 to 18 inches tall will work better and allow for growth.
