This pack is designed to be mixed with 20 pounds of sand to create an enriched, healthy mixture for crabs to live on and bury in.
20 pounds is about the right amount of substrate for our 4 1/2 gallon bowfront crabitat or a 5 1/2 gallon tank.
The kit includes:
•2 Hermit Crab Soil coconut fiber disks (for moisture retention).
•1 small bag of oyster shell (for calcium supplement).
•Instant Ocean for 1 gallon of water (for salt and minerals). Depending on how dry your sand is you may have left over salt water.
•Instructions for mixing. We use fresh water to expand the coconut fiber and then salt water to mix everything together.
